From the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
And performed at the Ashanti-hene's palace in Kumasi
Carolyn produces Adowa dance pieces to traditional Ghanian music and adapts her dance to a wide range of music which includes classical music. Originally a funeral dance, adowa is now performed at annual festival and social events.
Carolyn offers an interactive performance for all occasions, which is flexible and dependant on audience participation. Adowa is noted for it's grace and complexity for every movement and gestures have special meanings.
